“ We don’t always get to fix what’s broken. But sometimes, we get to honor it. And that’s enough.” Artur Zamber
Kintsugi - a Japanese technique that honours the special relationship between old and new highlighting the new with gold.
I came to kintsugi some years ago when I was asked to repair a broken teacup that belonged to a friend’s grandmother. As I practiced kintsugi, I found a deep personal connection to its philosophy of seeing beauty in repair. It’s more than an art form—it speaks to connection between generations, to living with change, and to embracing imperfection with grace.
Some of the special pieces I have restored.
